The practice of engineering is controlled by national, state, and local standards established by their respective controlling bodies.
These agencies ensure that design engineers provide a safe and uniform design for the motorists. Horizontal and vertical curves on roadways must meet certain design criteria; intersections must be designed for certain minimum turning radii; pavement edge drop-offs must be treated and maintained in a specified manner; and roadside appurtenances must be designed and deployed in a specified manner. These, among many other examples, portray the many variables potentially affecting a traffic accident case and the importance of the knowledge provided by the experts on our team.
Our staff have authored national and international standards for highway design including the AASHTO Highway Design Standards, (The AASHTO Green Book) which is considered to be the Bible of highway design. Our Professional Engineers are also experts in various other design documents and standards such as the Roadside Design Guide and The Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices. |
